Bridge Construction

To all the teachers out there who have scheduled a trip this spring to GRF. We are getting a new Bridge! Please be aware that the bridge on Hoard Road is under construction. We have been assured that passage over the bridge will not be interrupted and the construction crews are aware of the bus traffic to be expected this spring. The old bridge will not be taken down until the new bridge is complete and usable. Please advise your bus drivers of this construction so there are no surprises. Thank you. See you this spring!

Meet Baby Goat Lily!

Baby Lily and her Mama Lulu

Here is a picture of Lula, the mama goat and Lily her newborn baby. Staff at GRF went to do chores this morning and was greeted with this little baby goat. Mama is doing fine. And baby looks healthy!

Spring Season is upon us!

Only 3 days left to get ready for the Spring 2012 Season. We are very excited for our first school groups to arrive on Friday morning! Until then we are keeping SUPER busy putting finishing touches on changes and updates for the farm as well as just setting up the barns from our winter break.

Spring Employment!

GRF is currently looking for some outgoing people to be tour guides this spring, starting May 8th. If you were looking for something fun to get you outside a few days a week and you enjoy working with animals and/or kids then check us out! And EARN some extra CASH for that summer vacation you have planned. A great opportunity for stay at home moms/dads! Get the kids off to school in the morning, then come to work and be back home before the bus drops them off. Hours vary daily, but at most are from 9-2.

Misty had her Foal.

Misty is our riding horse, she is the paint and mother to Shadowfax. She was pregnant this winter again and this morning we awoke to find Mom and Baby! Its filly, which means it is the FIRST girl horse to be born at Glacier Rock Farms. We are very excited. Stay tuned to Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ for a name.

We have 9 new baby goats on the farm. They range from 2 weeks to a few days old. We are bottle feeding them all. Its a lot of fun. They are the cutest things!

Kittens!

Midnight, our black cat, had kittens last week. She had two kittens. Both are black, one with gray strips all over and the other is all black with gray and brown on its face. Super cute. We also have two other mamas that are expecting. We love the spring!
